Man in 30s stabbed in Littlemoor Weymouth

A man in his 30s was found with multiple stab wounds on Canberra Road in Littlemoor, Weymouth, prompting a swift response from Dorset Police on the evening of Saturday, May 4th, 2024.

Dorset Police received a report at 8:42 pm, alerting them to the suspected stabbing incident. Officers swiftly mobilized to the scene to attend to the victim and secure the area.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed at the time of writing, was discovered with multiple stab wounds. Immediate medical attention was provided to the injured individual, and they were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The severity of the victim’s injuries are said Not to be Life threating.

A woman aged in her 30s, also sustained an injury to her hand during the incident that also required hospital treatment.

In response to the incident, Dorset Police deployed firearms units to the scene, utilizing both marked and unmarked vehicles to ensure the safety of the area and facilitate the ongoing investigation.

As of now, no information regarding the perpetrator(s) or the motive behind the attack has been released by the authorities. The investigation into the stabbing incident is ongoing, with Dorset Police urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist with their inquiries.

Residents in the Littlemoor area, have also reported that the Dorset air ambulance was also onsite and landed in near by fields.

The Police NPAS helicopter could also be seen in the vicinity.

Detective Sergeant Emma Swann, of Dorset County CID, said: “An investigation is underway and extensive searches of the area have been carried out to locate the offender, with support from the NPAS helicopter.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or has information about the suspect, to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from any residents or motorists in the area who may have captured anything of relevance on either home CCTV or dashcam footage.

“A cordon remains in place at the scene while enquiries are carried out and officers can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”

“Thoughts are with the victims and family involved. The police are dealing with the matter and out in force across the area”
