The Royal Oak on Dorchester Road played host to a charity event last night (26th January) in aid of money for “Little Wilfred’s Superhero Fund.”
“On 8th November 2022, little Wilfred woke up like any other day, but it soon became apparent that this day would change the course of his life. Wilfred was unable to walk, he couldn’t feel his legs.
Little Wilfred was taken to Dorchester County Hospital where he underwent multiple tests and scans to ascertain the cause of the loss of feeling in his legs. After an agonising wait, Lucy and Will were told the news that no parent should ever hear about their child, 4-year-old Wilf has cancer; a tumour on his spine.”
Nikki Latham from Chesil Radio, did something amazing and hosted the event at The Royal Oak in hopes of raising funds for Wilmer and made a staggering £425 for the good cause!
The Royal Oak’s Facebook page said:
” We need to send out a massive ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone that came out last night for our charity quiz! We’re very pleased to say that the quiz and raffle raised £363 – which was topped up by the pub to a nice round £400 – and then the winning team very kindly donated back their £25 winnings! That means we all raised an amazing £425 last night for little Wilf and his family.
We also need to send a huge thank you to Nikki, of Chesil Radio, for making and running the quiz itself.
A very good job all round.
🍻😎👍”
