The Communications Workers Union (CWU) on behalf of Bt & Openreach employees has been in a dispute with bosses at Bt Group over pay since May 2022.
Talks broke down Between The CWU and Bt Group, which lead to The CWU holding a ballot with its members for Strike Action.
Bt & Openreach employees voted for their first national strike in 35 Years.
The ballot led to 2 X 2-day strikes already. With a further 4 X 1-day strikes this month.
Up to recently, Bt Group has stuck to their guns, With a Bt spokesperson stating on multiple occasions:
“The pay review for 2022 has closed and would not be reopened.”
However, this evening Wednesday 5th October 2022 at 1711 a Spokesperson for Bt Group told Dorset News:
“BT Group has been in constant discussions with the union throughout this process, including a recent face-to-face meeting, Although we’ve not yet reached any form of consensus, we’re both committed to further dialogue.”
If correct this sudden attitude change will be greatly received by Bt & Openreach employees.
