A man suffered a cardiac arrest in Tesco on Dorchester Road, Weymouth on the 29th of September; spiking a huge response from emergency services.

An Air Ambulance landed at a nearby field close to Lodmoor.

The store was closed for around two hours after the incident had taken place, opening back up at around 20:30 for customers.

At one point, police officers had to manage traffic flow as an ambulance was partially blocking a lane to gain access to the store.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 17.44hrs on Thursday 29 September to an incident in Weymouth. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and an air ambulance. We conveyed one patient to Dorset County Hospital by land ambulance.”

staff have been praised for their quick reactions.

We are unaware of the situation of the person involved, but wish him a speedy recovery.
