Weymouth Pavilion is set to host a nostalgic 90’s rave, with Weymouth Carnival and Air 107.2 taking the reins as organisers. The event promises to transport attendees back in time with classic music, neon lights and an electric atmosphere.

Air 107.2, the local radio station, will be providing the music for the event with Weymouth Carnival arranging logistics. The organisers have promised a night to remember, with a lineup of popular 90’s DJs and Mc’s and a range of classic tunes that are sure to get everyone on the dance floor.

The Weymouth Pavilion is the perfect venue for the event, with its spacious dance floor and state-of-the-art sound system from Richies Rig. The organisers have also promised a range of special effects, including neon lights and smoke machines, to really transport attendees back in time. With tickets selling fast, the 90’s rave is set to be one of the highlights of the year for the return of Weymouth Carnival next year!

90’s rave music was a defining genre of the decade. It emerged from the underground club scene in the UK and quickly spread throughout Europe and beyond. The music was characterized by its fast-paced beats, repetitive melodies, and heavy use of electronic instruments.

One of the most iconic features of 90’s rave music was the use of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer. This instrument was originally designed for bass guitarists but was repurposed by DJs to create the distinctive “acid” sound that became synonymous with the genre. The 303’s squelchy, resonant tones were perfect for creating hypnotic, trance-like tracks that kept dancers moving all night long.

Despite its popularity, 90’s rave music was not without controversy. The drug ecstasy, which was often associated with the scene, led to a number of tragic deaths and prompted a crackdown on raves by authorities. However, the music itself remains a beloved part of 90’s culture and continues to influence electronic music to this day.

Mandy from Portland said: “I am thrilled that the 90’s rave nostalgia is making a comeback! The event is scheduled for April 21st, 2023, and the tickets are selling out fast. This event promises to be action-packed and full of excitement. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

” I am already preparing for the event by packing my glowsticks and whistles. The rave culture of the 90s was all about the music, the dancing, and the vibrant energy of the crowd. I am confident that this event will capture the essence of that era and bring it back to life.”

“If you are a fan of the 90s rave scene or just looking for a fun and energetic event, then this is definitely the place to be. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to relive the nostalgia of the 90s rave and join me on April 21st, 2023.”
